English language proficiency required for occupations more commonly of interest and suitable to newcomers

The Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) standard is a descriptive scale of language ability in English as a Second Language. The scale consists of 12 benchmarks (CLB 1 through CLB 12), for each of which a set of “Can Do” statements is provided.

 

CLB 2 to CLB 5 English proficiency (including some familiarity with sector-specific terms) is likely to be required for the following jobs:
