Private Las Vegas venture jumped at the chance to operate casinos in Toronto, Ottawa, Kingston and elsewhere, and it’s only a matter of years before new luxury gambling palaces. Ontario casinos suffered during the COVID-19 pandemic. They were completely closed for months, and when they were allowed to reopen, they faced capacity restrictions. The border restrictions also meant that casinos in cities like Niagara Falls and Windsor lost their American customers.

The pandemic has already struck the Caesars casino in Windsor: closures, capacity restrictions and a decline in visitors from the United States (Fred Thornhill/ The Canadian Press). Over the years, the provinces have gained more rights to hold lotteries, horse racing, slot machines and casinos. Today, casinos can be found in almost every area in Canada. And over the years, they have become a significant attraction for people who love gambling and entertainment.
