Help for those facing barriers to suitable and sustainable employment.

Livelihood Project has three components: Plan and Learn, and Work. In the Planning component, Livelihood creates a personalized step-by-step career roadmap to navigate the future. In the Learning component, users will acquire the transferable skills they need to follow through with their Livelihood Plan. Users apply their newly developed skills in a Livelihood learn-while- you-earn work environment. The Livelihood model is based on new sociological and economic research coming out of government agencies, universities, and industry.

The Plan-Learn- Work model is currently being piloted at Livelihood Cafe.

In Livelihood Work Environments, the skills taught in the workshops can be practised in a low-risk, nurturing space. Livelihood Work Environments are learn-while- you- earn positions– users make a living to support themselves while they are mastering their new skills. This way, users are not forced to choose between personal growth and survival. The analogous workplaces are spaces to overcome obstacles and develop self- confidence.
