The Refugee Jobs Agenda Roundtable is hosting a unique hiring event for any refugees currently seeking employment in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), including Peel Region.

This event is open to all refugees, including Convention Refugees, Asylum Seekers and Refugee Claimants with a minimum 6 month work permit in Canada.

Some of the GTA’s top employers are looking for talented refugees to join their teams! We will be bringing together refugees and employers to hire for available positions. Unlike a Career Fair, this Hiring Event will give refugees the opportunity to interview for available roles and suitable candidates will be offered jobs on the spot.

Participating Employers

  • Shopify
  • SDI Marketing
  • HMS Host
  • Staples
  • Metro
  • Martinrea Automotive
  • ONroute Canada

Eligibility Criteria

To participate in this event, you must be a Convention Refugee, Asylum Seeker or Refugee Claimant. You must be legally entitled to work in Canada with either Permanent Resident status or an active Work Permit with a minimum of 6 months validity.

Please note: this event is by interview only!

Preparation Workshops

Refugee newcomers must complete a preparation workshop to receive an interview time-slot with a participating employer.

After you complete the registration process, you will be contacted by a participating service provider to confirm your preparation workshop, and how you can begin preparing for the event. Watch your email inbox for more information!

We are fortunate to have employment preparation workshops available at three locations – ACCES Employment Mississauga, COSTI Mississauga and YMCA Mississauga. We  encourage refugees to recognize the value of attending a preparation workshop and getting more information about the interview process, participating employers and available roles and tips for showcasing their talents!
